Kristin Henriksen
I only attended the Academy during my four years of high school (1983–1987). They were some of the most difficult years of my life, but some of my best memories are from my time in Quito. Mr. Lund was the one who believed in me at the Academy and spent hours tutoring me and helping me through my math years. His example is what inspired me to pursue a career in teaching.

I remember Alliance as a truly multicultural school. It not only allowed me to preserve my own cultural identity, but provided an opportunity to immerse myself in American culture while mastering the English language. The rich tapestry of cultures represented among both the teachers and students is what truly sets Alliance apart.

Dave Landers
¡GREEN IS GOOD!!
This phrase often brings back many fun memories of Dave Landers for the students. Dave shared his passion for science and for the Creator in a contagious way.
My best memories of Dave Landers are from when he taught my Biology and Photography classes. He made everything he taught very enjoyable. He had a great personality, and it showed every day—whether at school or outside of it!
Students from Alliance Academy have described Mr. Landers as someone who didn’t judge them if they weren’t Christians and made everyone feel accepted. He stood up for those who were at risk of having to interrupt their education at the school...

Rob Quiring
GREEN IS GOOD!
Almost everyone who attended high school at Alliance Academy during the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s took a class with Mr. Quiring! To say he is legendary is an understatement. His infamous journals were the talk of many evenings, his “Carpe Aeternitatem” speech echoed down the hallway at the start of the school year, his passion for literature and theatre (notice the spelling 😉) was contagious, and his tender heart and emotions poured out during any discussion about our Savior. There’s no doubt his students were well prepared for college-level classes, but the spiritual impact he had on them will only be fully revealed in eternity.
Adam Yoder
Before Adam Yoder passed away at the age of 34, he poured out his exemplary life over nine years into the students, faculty, and staff of Alliance Academy International. His quiet strength, wisdom, and quick wit continue to encourage us. His love for God still inspires us.
Much more than just a History teacher or Assistant Principal, Adam made a special effort to be easily accessible to his students. He dedicated extra time to those who were struggling and was always willing to listen. Because of these qualities, he had great opportunities to be a mentor—especially in intentional settings like the Man Up Retreat.
