The Alliance Academy International (AAI) in Quito, Ecuador is a world renowned, international Christian school. AAI seeks to recruit and retain professionals who are passionate and committed equally to:

Teachers at AAI preferably have a US-style education and either hold a valid teacher certification through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) or another recognized certification agency. Training and/or experience in the area of application is required. Job descriptions are available upon request. Preference may be given to those with two years of experience or more. We serve the international community, so proficiency in languages other than English is an asset, but not required.

Our desire is to employ those who are seeking to serve for a minimum of three years. Our ultimate desire is to have those join us who have a spiritual motivation to minister internationally in a Christian school setting. Biblical knowledge and spiritual maturity is required for all faculty members directly working with students.

We are currently a diverse faculty and staff community. Demographics range from recent college graduates to teachers with over 30 years of experience. All subjects are taught in English with the exception of Spanish language and literature, local history,  and other cultural requirements. We serve students in 3-year-old preschool up through 12th grade with a college preparatory program.

We have a faculty of special education teachers and English-as-a-Foreign-Language (EFL) teachers who provide additional support for students as needed. Classroom aides are also provided as needed. Additionally, we have several educational therapists trained through the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD). Classroom aides are also provided as needed.

Faculty and staff members who come from the United States and who are not affiliated with any mission may choose to come as missionaries with Resourcing Christian Education International (www.rce-international.org) while those in Canada may choose to come under the Canadian division of Commission to Every Nation (cten.org).  Both US and Canadians may also choose to come with TeachBeyond (teachbeyond.org). We are seeking evangelical believers who will commit for a minimum of 3 years and, ideally, as a long-term calling to serve in international Christian education.

2019/2020 school year

Talented and Gifted (TAG) Teacher

Must have a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.

Master’s degree preferred. Specialization in gifted and talented instruction preferred.

Two years of experience in an educational context required.

Must be able to administer standardized assessments.

English fluency required; native speaker preferred.

Secondary Spanish Teacher (part-time, available immediately)

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Spanish education or equivalent.

Experience teaching non-native Spanish speakers is also required.


Elementary Division
(2020/2021 school year)

Kindergarten Teacher

Candidates must have bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education.

US certification or ability to obtain certification is required.

Classroom teaching experience or successful completion of student teaching is preferred.

Native English proficiency is required. 

Preschool Teacher

BA or BS degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.

US certification and/or experience preferred.

Native English proficiency required.

Spanish fluency preferred.

Elementary PE Teacher

Must have a bachelor’s degree in Education or Physical Education

US certification or the ability to obtain certification required; minimum of 6 months of experience within an educational context or similar environment required

Fluent English proficiency required

Conversational Spanish proficiency preferred.

Ability and passion for working with students of ages 4-12; coursework in child development and/or psychology is a plus.

Elementary Reading Intervention Teacher

Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Special Education or related field

Coursework in reading intervention and/or methods required

United States (US) teacher certification or the ability to obtain certification required

Certification as a reading specialist is preferred.

Classroom experience or successful completion of a student-teaching practicum is required

Experience with reading intervention is required

Native English proficiency required

Conversational Spanish proficiency preferred.

Elementary Learning Support Teacher

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field and teacher certification.

Special Education certification is preferred.

Successful completion of a student-teaching practicum or experience as a learning support teacher (SPED and/or EFL) is required.

Native English proficiency is required.

Conversational Spanish proficiency is preferred.

Secondary Math Teacher

Must have a BA or BS degree in Secondary Math Education or related field.

US certification or the ability to obtain certification required.

Classroom or student teaching experience required.

Native English proficiency required.

Secondary English Teacher

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education or related field.

Experience with United States (US) educational standards and curriculum is required.

US certification or the ability to obtain certification required

Classroom or student teaching experience required.

Native English proficiency required.

Secondary Social Studies Teacher

Must have a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education or related field

Experience with United States (US) educational standards and curriculum is required

US certification or the ability to obtain certification required

Formal classroom or student teaching experience required.

Native English proficiency required.

Secondary PE teacher (part-time)

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field.

US certification or the ability to obtain certification is required.

Experience teaching within an educational context or similar environment is required.

Fluent English proficiency is required.
