AAI was founded as Alliance Academy in 1929 with eight students and two teachers to provide a US education for the children of missionaries of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA). AAI is now an independent school that serves many nationalities in an English immersion setting through a Christian worldview. In 2006, the school was renamed Alliance Academy International and became independent of the C&MA and is now an international school that serves Ecuadorians and expatriates from over 30 different countries. AAI has thousands of alumni serving in every walk of life, living all over the world.
Approximately 150 faculty and staff members make up our AAI community. Most of our teaching faculty are native English speakers, hailing from the US, Canada, South Africa, UK, Philippines, and various Latin American countries, including Ecuador. Our non-teaching staff also includes many local Ecuadorians, creating a multicultural community that celebrates both North American and Ecuadorian traditions, and also embraces a broad array of international cultures. Our faculty are highly committed, unified in purpose, and passionate about serving students through our mission of Eternity, Excellence, and Community. Many of our teachers have earned advanced degrees, and they are qualified and experienced in their fields. The close-knit community is one which reflects love, care, and support; our faculty & staff members think of AAI as an extension of their family.
